Hyderabad, June 2
Body of Maganti Ravindranath Chowdhary (30), son of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leaders and former Eluru MP Maganti Babu, was found in a local hotel on Wednesday. The police have registered a case of death under suspicious circumstances.
Ravindranath was in Hyderabad for treatment of his liver condition. He was staying in a five-star hotel in Banjara Hills and was to vacate the hotel on Tuesday evening. When he did not come out of his room, the hotel staff tried to contact him.
The hotel staff alerted the police who broke open the door. Ravindranath was found lying on the floor with blood as if he had vomited. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but was declared brought dead.
Sources said the death could have been a result of cirrhosis of the liver. The actual cause will be known after post-mortem.
The police have shifted the body to the government-run Osmania Hospital for autopsy after registering a case of death under suspicious circumstances.
Maganti Babu had lost his elder son Maganti Ramchandran (37) in March this year from a brief illness. Both his sons were getting politically active. Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu spoke to Babu and expressed his condolences.
