Today, under the guidance of former MLA of Nagrota Assembly and BJP leader Devendra Singh Rana, the Shri Kailakh Jyotish avim Vedic sansthan Trust organized a grand awareness rally from Government Degree College Jindrah to promote Sanskrit and drug de-addiction. The rally aimed to encourage society to stay away from drugs and emphasize the importance of Sanskrit. The event began with tree planting and distribution. The chief guest at the rally was SP Rural Jammu, Brijesh Sharma, and the guest of honor was Anil Sharma, President of the All India Jammu and Kashmir Panchayat Conference.
Participants, including students, prepared several slogans promoting drug-free living and the importance of Sanskrit, which they carried on placards as they marched through Jindrah, spreading awareness among the people. On this occasion, Brijesh Sharma stated that the trust’s president, Mahant Rohit Shastri, is playing a crucial role in promoting Sanskrit in the region. Today, a grand awareness rally was held to promote Sanskrit and raise awareness about drug de-addiction. He added that addiction is a vice that can destroy our entire lives. A person addicted to drugs becomes a burden on both family and society. It is essential to impart knowledge of Sanskrit to children, as it instills good values in them.
Anil Sharma praised Mahant Rohit Shastri’s efforts, noting that he is not only promoting Sanskrit but also working on large-scale projects related to tree plantation, cyber security, and drug de-addiction. This is their fourth rally in the Nagrota Assembly. Drug addiction is a significant issue that affects many individuals in society. It can endanger health, family, and economic well-being. Addiction often leads to a sense of isolation and detachment. Drug use can result in severe diseases like oral cancer, liver failure, lung cancer, heart disease, etc. Education, awareness, and proper guidance are essential for drug de-addiction.
Mahant Rohit Shastri mentioned that these programs are being held as part of Sanskrit Month. Everyone should have knowledge of Sanskrit, as “Sanskrit is our priceless cultural heritage, which is now being appreciated globally.”
Dil Bahadur Singh Jamwal explained that drug de-addiction means freeing an individual or society from addiction, which involves preventing drug use or working to eliminate addiction. It also involves prioritizing healthy and positive lifestyles for individuals or communities and protecting them from the harmful effects of addiction. He expressed his gratitude to the local residents and students for their large turnout, which enhanced the event’s significance.
Students from Government Degree College Jindrah, Government Higher Secondary School Jindrah, college principals, school principals, former Sarpanch, former Panch, and other prominent citizens were present on this occasion.
