In its endeavor to redress grievances of the general public and to ensure provision of essential services at their doorsteps, Speaker Legislative Assembly, Dr. Nirmal Singh today convened a public grievance redressal camp at Dalian village of LahriPanchayat in Billawar.
People in large numbers from nearby villages participated in the camp and apprised the Speaker of their problems and issues.
On the occasion, the public deputations raised several issues related to PDD, PHE, PWD, agriculture, healthcare and education sector.The speaker assured the public of early redressal of their grievances and directed the officers to take speedy action on the flagged-issues. Nirmal Singh said that objective behind conducting such redressal camps is to provide a platform to the public for raising their issues and demands. He said the government has initiated various projects to provide people with amenities like roads, bridges, schools and drinking water schemes.
To increase the coverage under PMAY in Lahri panchayat, the Speaker directed the concerned officers to expedite the process of granting houses under PMAY to the beneficiaries. He also informed that in the past 3 years work amounting to Rs 50 lakhs was commenced in Lahri panchayat in addition of completing other works.
Underscoring several development works initiated in Billawar in the past three and a half years, Dr. Singh said that Rs. 20 Crores have been spent on the education sector, half of the total 321 KM of Billawar road was black topped, new transformers were installed to provide regular power, significant amount have been spent on augmenting PHE infra besides 5000 PRCs were issued by the office of ADC, Billawar. A total of more than Rs. 600 Crore development works in past three and a half years besides Rs 15 Crore work under DDUGVY scheme to revamp power infra will not only make life easier for the populace of Billawar but also improve their socio-economic status, Nirmal Singh added.
Nirmal Singh also divulged that DPR for upgradation of road from Khog to Kadetar is also sent to the concerned authority for approval and assured the residents that pending works will also get executed within the stipulated time frame.
Stressing on the need to check illegal PHE connections, he called for judicious use of water as mammoth amount of Rs. 117 Crore has been required to streamline water distribution system of Billawar.
He also sought the cooperation of the people in the fast and better execution of ongoing developmental projects. The Speaker asked the officers to create awareness among the people about various government-sponsored welfare schemes, with focus on insurance and pension schemes so that the objective behind launching them would be fulfilled.
Later, the Speaker inspected the ongoing construction of receiving station at Kadetar and directed the concerned officers to prepare the revised estimation of the project cost on priority so that sufficient funds can be arranged for its execution.
Among others ADC Billawar, Joginder Singh Rai, SDPO, BDO, Tehsildar, Engineers, prominent citizens and other division level officers were present on this occasion.
