Speaker Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Kavinder Gupta, today inaugurated a Blood Donation Camp organized to mark celebration of Manav Ekta Diwas by Sant Nirankari Charitable Foundation (SNCF) at Sant Nirankari Satsang Bhawan, Shastri Nagar Jammu.
Pertinently, the Sant Nirankari Mission celebrates Manav Ekta Diwas/Human Unity Day as every year on 24th April since 1981. The Foundation has organized 83 Blood Donation Camps all across India including in 230 Jammu while 514 camps were organized during 2017-18 in which 83,341 units of blood were donated.
While speaking on the occasion, the Speaker appreciated the enthusiasm of the donors and congratulated the Nirankari Mission for their matchless contribution towards society.
He also appreciated the Principal Secretary, Health & Medical Education, Dr Pawan Kotwal for his support to the SNCF for holding such donation camps.
Among others, MLC Vikram Randhawa, Chairperson, J&K Special Tribunal, Sarita Chauhan, Former Director General Planning, B R Lachotra besides others were also present on the occasion.
The blood camp was held in collaboration with blood & transfusion department of Government Medical College, Jammu, Indian Red Cross Society And JKSACS.
