JAMMU, Sept 10:
Government SPMR College of Commerce bagged the overall championship trophy in men’s Swimming event securing highest 18 points out of three gold and a silver medal won by the college swimmers in the annual inter-college competitions of University of Jammu (JU) at MA Stadium, here today.
Those winners in swimming were given away medals by the Director Sports and Physical Education, JU, Dr Daud Iqbal Baba. In all, 23 swimmers, representing 10 affiliated colleges of JU took part in the competition.

KHO-KHO: The inter-college women’s Kho-Kho event was declared open by Dean Students Welfare, Prof. Parmeshwari Sharma amidst interaction with the teams of participating colleges.
The Results: GCW Gandhi Nagar beat GDC Bishnah by 15 (17-02)points; GDC Samba beat GDC Mendhar by 10 (12-02)points. MEN: GDC Mendhar beat GDC RS Pura by 02 (17-15) points; GDC, Udhampur beat GDC Hiranagar by 08 (11-03) points.
BADMINTON: Badminton men’s competition declared open by Joint Registrar Finance, Dr. Dharminder Mangotra. He interacted with all the participating players and encouraged them. The Results: SPMR College of Commerce beat GDC Basholi 3-0: GDC Akhnoor beat ASCOMS by 3-1; GDC Reasi beat IMS Patoli by 3-1; Trikuta Degree College beat GDC Samba 3-0; Yogananda College of Engg. & Tech beat GDC Billawar 3-1; GDC Ramnagar beat Dogra Law College 3-0; GGM Science College beat GDC Hiranagar 3-2.
