Shadow Correspondent JAMMU, FEB 26: Little Millennium a leading Pre School promoted by M/S Educomp Childcare organized a day long sporting event SPORTAHON today at Gandhi Nagar in which the pre schoolers form its Roop Nagar and Gandhi Nagar Branches participated. Sh. Devender Singh Rana MLA was the Chief guest, Mr. Shiv Kumar Sharma Joint Secretary J&K Sports Council was the guest of honor and Sh. P.K. Sharma Chairman was the special guest in the scintillating event in which the preschoolers dazzled the guests and parents with their grand opening ceremony. Ms Akhila Magotra the Chief Learning Officer of the school in her Welcome address presented a brief resume’ of the activities and delved on the importance of sports for the pre school children for their physical and mental development. She asserted that by playing sports children develop physical skills, exercise, make new friends, have fun, learn to be a team member, learn about play fair, improve self-esteem, etc. She also deliberated on the unique teaching methodology adopted by the school to prepare the little angels as creative and confident individuals. Speaking on the occasion, Sh. Devender Rana congratulated the management for organizing the SPORTATHON on such a huge scale though for preschoolers of age 2 to 6 years. He said that such type of holistic approach to education based on modern curriculum being provided by the Little Millennium Preschool will go a long way in developing responsible & conscious future citizens. Earlier the SPORTATHON was declared open by Sh Devender Rana by releasing the tricolor balloons in presence of dignitaries and subsequently specially researched and designed races and activities like Drill, Animal Yoga Bead race, Caterpillar race, Kangaroo Race etc. were conducted under the guidance of learning officer Ms Priyanka Magotra which as per her interaction were designed for cognitive and physical development of little angels besides developing social skills in them for working as a team. The eventful day ended with the prize distribution and felicitation of little angels by the Chief Guest Sh Devender Rana which was an emotional moment for the parents seeing their little children taking their First big step in sports.
