Srinagar, May 31 :

A Vistara Aircraft headed to Srinagar from New Delhi received a bomb threat on Friday prompting swift action from the security grid at Srinagar Airport.
The call was later turned to be a hoax.
Officials said the threatening call- that triggered a brief scare- was received by Air Traffic Control (ATC) Srinagar which raised the alarm. The flight operations at the Airport were affected for over half an hour after the scare.
The Aircraft carrying 177 passengers landed in Srinagar around noon and the plane was immediately taken

to an isolation bay. A thorough security check was carried out as per the protocol, they said.
A senior official at the Srinagar Airport said there was a security concern in a Srinagar-bound flight and the security grid including the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), responsible for the security at the airport, responded to the situation.
“Bomb disposal squads and sniffer dogs were deployed to check for any suspicious items. No explosive was found,” he said, adding it was a hoax bomb threat call.
The operations at the Airport resumed later.
The authorities have started investigating the source of the bomb threat call.
