JAMMU, Nov 22: Shri Raghunath Mandir Sewa Samiti (SRMSS) on Saturday reiterated demand of constituting Shrine Board for all the temples and shrines presently under the control of Dharmarth Trust.
In a press conference held in Jammu today SRMSS President Rajiv Mahajan expressed great disappointment over mismanagement and embezzlement of funds going on for years together despite bringing the same before concerned agencies by Samiti from time to time even by submitting memorandums from PM to respective Governors of erstwhile J&K State and even to then BJP Dy CMs Dr Nirmal Singh and Kavinder Gupta with sufficient proofs.
Making a sensational exposure in the press conference, Mahajan disclosed that open loot of sources and possessions of Raghunath Temple by Dharmath Trust has reached to such an extent that after selling of land belonging to different temples in J&K now has stolen some 250 valuable books worth several crores as Dharmath Trust did not lodge FIR against missing Books from Research Library Shri Ragunath Ji temple.
He further said that a Priest of temple who dared to lodge FIR in this regard has been attached and three others who accompanied him have been suspended proving foul play with funds by Dharmath Trust especially those who are at helm of affairs as the same FIR stands withdrawn by Management of Trust.
Making special mention of Historical and very costly book Raag Ragini worth several crores, Mahajan said that such a historical and expensive book whose words were gold plated is not available in Library but no serious effort was made to trace it by Trust doubting sell out of books the way other resources were siphoned off.
Adding further he said that recently foreign delegation had shoot a documentary in this historical research library and they must have played handsomely but there is no entry of receiving any payment from them like there is no clue of worth Rs 3 crore fix deposit handed over to Trust way back in 1999.
Mahajan appealed LG Girish Chander Murmu to take serious cognizance of unprofessional conduct and misappropriation of funds by Dharmath Trust whose proofs are available and must constitute independent Commission to audit all the land and property belonging to the Dharmath Trust managing these temples.
He demanded immediate elimination of Trust and handing over affairs of all the temples and Shrines look after and managed by Dharmath Trust to Shrine Board to stop further loot of funds by Trust.
He appealed to administration not to test patience of devotees and demanded befitting action in this regard failing which Samiti will be left with no other option than hitting streets and roads against this open loot.
