After dominating the field against league champions, Shaheen Football Club in the stipulated time thus playing a goalless draw, Sports Saviours Football Club (SSFC) today lost their quarterfinals game in the sudden death 7-8 in the ongoing Jammu leg of the State Football Championship at GGM Science College ground, here.
The fast growing side of SSFC missed a number of sure goal chances including two power-packed shots hitting the goal post. On the other hand, goal-keeper of Shaheen FC deserves appreciation for showing courage in guarding the net.
Earlier, the match ended in a goalless draw, followed by inconclusive tie-breaker results.
It was in the sudden death that Shaheen emerged winner. With today’s win Shaheen has qualified for the semifinals stages of the competition.
Meanwhile, in another scheduled match, Vijay Club made it a 4-1 win against DFA Reasi to become the second team to reach semifinals today.
Dewan (28th), Nawong (52nd), Sandeep (56th) and Parveen (66th) were the scorers from winning side while Barmanyu reduced the margin in the 58th minute.
Vijay Kumar, Rickey Kumar, Ajay Singh and Rocky Sharma were officials in today’s matches.
