POONCH, Dec 17:
Stadium XI won the inaugural match of the District Poonch Hockey Championship for Sub-Junior, Junior Boys and Seniors (men and women) at Sports Stadium, here today under the aegis of Hockey J&K.
In the opening match of the Junior boys category, Stadium XI defeated Young Star 4-1.
Jagmeet netted the two goals while Kavleen and Vishal sounded the board one a goal each.
From Young Star, Jagmeet Junior reduced the margin scoring in the 14th minute.
The event was declared open by DySP (Operations) Bhesam Dubey, who was the chief guest. Others present were Nirdosh Kumar (Manager Sports Stadium), Ravinder Singh, Tanveer Dar (senior hockey player), Parvaiz Ahmed (Chairman EHSAAS Foundation Poonch), Vijay Kumar (PEM), Pawan Kumar (Hockey coach), Matinderpal Singh (hockey coach), Sourab Sharma and Ram Prakash.
The opening match officiated by the technical panel including Navjot Singh, Sunil Raina, Shobit Tandon and Shokat. This championship is being conducted under technical supervision of Mukesh Kumar (SAI hockey coach).
