KATHUA, April 10:
Stadium XI won the thriller against Janglote FC making it 3-2 in the ongoing Football League, organised by DFA Kathua for Mufti Mohammad Sayeed Memorial Gold Cup at Sports Stadium, here today.
Earlier, Janglote took the first lead through Abhishek but only to find an equaliser coming from Atul. Levelled at 1-1, the game saw attacks and counter attacks after the breather. Again Janglote went ahead when Chetan successfully converted a spot kick into goal.
However, Stadium XI accelerated their efforts to find an equaliser which they found in dying moments of the match through Rizwan which was followed by a winning goal netted by Vishavdev in injury time. Later, Atul awarded man of the match.
Meanwhile, in another scheduled match of the day, Highflyers FC (HFC) fight it out against Kharote FC 3-2. The HFC drew first blood and scored two back to back goals in first half through Ranjeet Jasrotia and Rakesh Singh. Kharote fought back and scored two goals to equalize through Deepak and Naseeb after interval.
The HFC retook the lead in 55th minute through Abhishek to win the match 3-2. Abhishek bagged man of the match award.
