JAMMU MAY 01
An impressive May Day function was organized at Jammu under the aegis of state Government Employees Joint Action Committee Jammu. Wherein all the constituents members from all over Jammu region participated in this function. The speakers recalled the supreme scarifies made by the peasants in Chicago in 1857 in order to determine the working hours growing. It is because of those martyrs that at present the working hours are determined by the peasant by the working class. Glowing tributes were paid to the martyrs and two minutes silence was observed for peace of the departed souls senior trade union leaders Sh. Subash Verma President BMS and Suresh Sharma President Peoples Democratic Trade Union and Sh. Sushil Sudan President Jammu Kashmir Medical Employees Federation while saluting the Martyrs executed upon whole of the working class of the state to see around the world particularly India we are trade unionism is at its diminishing stage and capitalist forces are harshly implementing, higher and fire policy which is determental and jeopardizing fundamental rights of self defense by the working class. This is the time that all the trade unions in the state irrespective of minor differences should come to gather and be ready for a struggle against the onslaught of the working class.
Latter on while addressing the media persons the presidium compressing of Sushil Sudan, Suresh Sharma and Subash Verma severly criticize the dictatorial order of the state government from changing the conventional office timing from 8:00 am to 2:00PM to that of 10:00 am to 4:30 PM in summer zone of Jammu region particularly the employees working outside the Secretariat. It may be mentioned here that wisdom of then Maharaja of the state in operating the offices of Secretariat and those out side Secretariat according to the convenience of the general public and peculiar nature of climatic conditions of Jammu as well as in Kashmir. It is strange that the seat of power shift i.e Secretariat shift their operations from Srinagar to Jammu in winter and Jammu to Srinagar in summer keeping in view the climatic condition. It is discriminatory between the two sections of employees i.e in secretariat and outside secretariat. In the alternative SGEJAC demands that either the old timing should be immediately restored or in the alternative the employees if ordered to work as per office timing of the Secretariat then “five day week” as in case of Secretariat employees should also be ordered for all the employees working outside the state otherwise there will a state wide agitation on this issue and the responsibility entirely on the state Government.
The leaders while expressing their anguish over non finalization of the health insurance policy date till date.
As the previous one was fraught with bunglinging and flaws which was ultimately terminated by the Hon’ble Governor but we also demand immediate action against the defaulting officers who got implemented the ill conceved health insurance policy and the premium deducted may kindly be refunded immediately the new policy after taking into confidence all the stage holders should immediately be formulated and announced at the earliest as the employees are suffering lot
They also criticize the non implementation of 7th pay commission report on PSU Employees inspite of clear orders. Release of pending wages of daily wagers/Casual Labour,Female Multipurpose Health Workers working in PDD,PHE and Health regularized these workers without fail.
Many leaders S/Sh. Kartar Chand Dubey , Maheshwer Sharma, PawanJeet, Indu Khurdi, Rajesh Mangotra, Manjoor Ali, Hashia, Tasleema Tilak Raj, Bittu, Jarnail Khokhar, Ramna, Anita, Tripta, Parmjeet, C.K Sudan etc were present in the press conference
