All J&K State pensioners Association held one day protest/ Dharna on today to protest against Governments’ apathy towards pensioners problems, Mr ID Soni, Director, Scouts and Guide was the Chief guest and Mr Mukund Lal Sharma, President of the association presided over the occasion.
Addressing the delegates and activists of the Association Mr Sharma strongly condemned the attitude of State towards the problems of the pensioners, he demanded that state govt should provide free insurance to all pensioners and immediate settlement of Pension review cases pending in the office of AG J&K to be shifted to concerned treasury offices for immediate settlement of cases of AG failed to settled the cases in time.
Mr Madan Lal Abrol, Gen Secretary Association regretted that State government failed to enhanced the Medical Allowance which pensioners have been getting more than five years where as Medical Allowances has been provided to MLAs/MLCs/Ministers@ of Rs.10000/ PM. He appealed to the Hon’ble Governor Sh. Satya Paul Malik to raise the Medical Allowance from Rs. 300 to Rs. 3000/ PM.
Mr.Yash Paul Sanson, demanded that all pensioners be exempted form Income Tax as they are not getting any income, their pension is a sort of compensation for the services they had given to nation. Mr. Jagdish Dogra stressed upon the govtt to provide 50% rebate in government buses to the pensioners as neighbor states and free medical facilities be given to the state pensioners and they should allowed to get genuine treatment in hospitals and for that Medical treatment cards to issued all pensioners.
A resolution was passed with one voice demanding immediate solution to the employees, pensioners, which include transefer of pension review cases from A.G. to treasuries, free Health Insurance policy ,enhancement of Medical allowance from Rs. 300/- to Rs. 3000/pm – and 50% rebate in bus fare.
Large number of pensioners from all parts of state participated. The prominent who were present, were Mohd. Shafi, Desh Raj Sharma, Bhushan Pargal, Puranchand Khajuria, Ravi Sawhney, V.K.Sharma, Deepak Khajuria, Ram Dass Bhagat, Ram Pal Seth.
