The drives were carried out under the guidance of Commissioner State Taxes J&K, P K Bhat and under the supervision of Additional Commissioner (Enforcement and Administration) Jammu, Namrita Dogra.
Led by State Tax Officers, the specially constituted enforcement teams visited various business units in Vijaypur, Samba, R S Pura, Jammu (Central), Sunderbani, Rajouri, Kishtwar, Lakhanpur, Kathua, Banihal, Ramban and Udhampur over the past one week and investigated violations under GST law by verifying documents, physical stock position, bill books, among others.
“The inspections are part of enforcement activity. 13 teams have been constituted to carry out inspections across the division,” informed Additional Commissioner (Enforcement and Administration) Jammu, Namrita Dogra. She added that teams specifically targeted dealers who were found engaged in sale suppression and fake invoicing.
The State Taxes Department urged the dealers to follow the fair-trade practices and avoid indulging in tax evasion activities or fraudulent practices involving fake ITC.
