Sunidhi Chauhan is one of the most popular Bollywood vocalists. In a recent interview, the actress discussed her path and highlighted times where she was not paid for her work, as well as lobbying. Sunidhi Chauhan revealed on Raj Shamani’s podcast that she was not reimbursed for some of her most memorable and lauded performances, despite being one of the industry’s most sought-after and highest-paid singers. Raj Shamani shed light on a horrifying Bollywood practice in which vocalists are forced to record many versions of a song, with just the chosen one receiving compensation while the others are left unpaid. He questioned Sunidhi Chauhan if there are any money concerns in the profession, to which she replied that unpaid work is a common occurrence for vocalists. When asked about Sonu Nigam’s controversial remark about Bollywood’s supposed mafia rule, he replied, “Kuch hi log hain, kuch hi logo ko aage badhayenge?” Chauhan confessed to this, claiming that lobbying existed everywhere, including award ceremonies, music, films, and reality shows. “It’s something you cannot avoid. You do your work, and if you want to get involved, do it to fix things,” she said.
