SVEEP awareness camp organised at Kishtwar

A Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) awareness programme was organised at Adarsh Bal Niketan High School here today.
Nodal Officer, SVEEP Sunil Bhutyal organized the programme under the guidance of the District Election Officer, Kishtwar Angrez Singh Rana.
Among others, Principal ABN Kishtwar, Rajesh Chander Sharma and students of various educational institutions were present on the occasion.
On the occasion, the Nodal Officer SVEEP briefed the participants regarding the ongoing Special Summary Revision and appealed the students to enrol themselves and participate in the forthcoming elections with full enthusiasm.
He further emphasised the role of youth in the democratic process and invited their attention and co-operation to educate and aware the electors regarding the importance of voters participation in the political process.
Emphasis was also laid on the use of technology for enhancing the voter turnout and imparting the awareness in this regard.
Later, detailed information and live demonstration were given to the students regarding the use of EVM-VVPAT.
Further, in another programme, a live demonstration on EVM-VVPAT was given to newly elected sarpanches in the conference hall of the Mini Secretariat, Kishtwar. Awareness regarding SVEEP, Toll-free number 1950 and information about the website www.nvsp.in was provided to them and were asked to popularise the same at their respective panchayats.
The Nodal Officer SVEEP appealed them to act as the champions of democracy and spread the concepts of ethical voting along with the SVEEP to the remotest corners of the district.
