RAJOURI, SEPT 04:
To promote voter awareness, enhance electoral literacy, and ensure informed participation in the upcoming Assembly Elections, the SVEEP Cell for Assembly Constituency 86-Budhal (ST) organized a series of activities across the constituency. These events were held under the guidance of District Election Officer Abhishek Sharma and Returning Officer for Assembly Constituency 86-Budhal (ST), Dil Mir (ADC Koteranka) and supervision of District Nodal Officer SVEEP Bishamber Dass (CEO), and Nodal Officer SVEEP for Budhal Assembly Constituency, Prof. Tahir Nadeem.
The day-long activities commenced with a slogan writing campaign themed “The Importance of a Vote in a Democracy” at Government High School (GHS) Damote, where a large number of students actively participated. This campaign was meticulously overseen by Headmaster, Babu Ram, with active participation from the SVEEP Cell members.
Simultaneously, a comprehensive Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) awareness camp was held at Higher Secondary School, Tralla, in collaboration with the school’s Electoral Literacy Club. The camp, which opened with an informative voter awareness lecture by Dr. Nazia Bi, Women Nodal Officer (SVEEP) for Budhal Assembly Constituency, included a live demonstration session led by Abdul Razaq, Assembly Level Master Trainer (ALMT), with assistance from Shabnam Shabir, GRS. The camp, open to the general public but specifically targeting Anganwadi Workers, Helpers, ASHA Workers, Lambardars, Chokidars and students, aimed to equip attendees with the knowledge and confidence to effectively use the EVMs.
The session provided detailed demonstrations on the functioning of the EVMs, step-by-step voting instructions, and troubleshooting guidance for common issues. Participants were encouraged to engage in hands-on practice and ask questions, ensuring that even those with minimal experience could confidently participate in the electoral process. The event received positive feedback from attendees, who appreciated the opportunity to learn about the EVMs in a supportive environment.
In a separate initiative, members of the SVEEP Cell for Assembly Constituency 86-Budhal (ST) interacted with local residents of the Peeri area, encouraging them to exercise their right to vote on September 25, 2024.
