Swachhta Pakhwada observed in POWERGRID,Samba

Power Grid Corporation of India Limited, Samba Substation observed Swachhta Pakhwada from 16th May to 31st May 2018 . During this Pakhwada lot of activities were carried out that included cleanliness drives, lecture competitions in various schools, distribution of dust bins for waste collection, Debate competition , Health checkup camps etc.
Major highlight of this pakhwada was the cleanliness drive that was carried out jointly with Municipal committee Samba and local people of Jatwal town. In this cleanliness drive, Jatwal market was cleaned and all the shops were provided with dustbins by POWERGRID.
Another activity that was appreciated by all was a Health checkup camp organized in association with Shri Mata Vashno Devi Narayana Super speciality hospital wherein around 50 persons were examined by the doctors and advised treatment. Diagnostic tests were also carried out in the camp. On the concluding day today a debate competition was organized for the employees of the substation on the topic ” India … A defecation free country by 2020 is a possibility”. Employees of the Substation participated in the debate competition enthusiastically and spoke their heart out. Sh. Davender Kumar, Sh. Neeraj Bakshi , Sh. Rajesh Kumar and Sh. P.D.Singh received first, second, third and consolation prizes. Sh. Ramesh Kumar Chief Manager (I/C) was the chief guest on this occasion. He distributed the prizes among the winners and appreciated the efforts of POWERGRID in realizing the dream of our honorable Prime minister of a Clean and healthy India.
