Swasth Bharat Yatra given warm reception at Jammu

JAMMU, NOV 27:
The Swasth Bharat Yatra with the theme of “EAT RIGHT INDIA” reaches Jammu city today. This 2 days in-transit Yatra was launched by the Dr. Abdul Kabir Dar at Leh on 16th Oct 2018 in connection with 150th Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
The Yatra was given a huge reception this morning at Hari Palace with tilak ceremony and dogri traditional culture programme organised by the Food Safety team lead by Dr. Pravesh Kumar (Asst. Comm. Food Safety Jammu Municipal Limits) under the directions and supervision of Dr. Abdul Kabir Dar (Comm. Food Safety, J&K). Dr. A C Mishra (Joint Director, FSSAI, New Delhi) was the main guest of the event along with the Cyclists and he explains in detail about this “EAT RIGHT INDIA” movement and he also administered the pledge with a large number of people who attended the function.
Earlier, while presenting welcome address Dr. Pravesh Kumar focused on the importance of this Yatra and explained that how the upcoming events regarding this “EAT RIGHT INDIA” in Jammu city. He also stressed on the main slogans of the campaign like “AAj Se Thoda Kam”, “Eat Fortified”, “Eat Healthy, Stay Healthy”, and “Eat nutritious and hygiene food”.
Food safety officers Mr. Hans Raj, Sh. Dilip Singh, Dr. Sabha were present in the function and a large number of audience comprises of Anganwadi Workers from Social Welfare Department, College, and School Students, NCC Cadets from Women Wing Gandhi Nagar, representative of the reputed NGO “SAVE” headed by Rumpy Madaan along with people from all walks of life.
Today’s, function concludes with the National Anthem and vote of thanks by the Dr. Pravesh Kumar and he requested the people to join the “EAT RIGHT INDIA” movement with their full participation and make this Yatra a huge success.
Later in the day, a convention regarding the “EAT RIGHT INDIA” was held at the Hotel Asia which was attended by the various food-related associations and reputed food business operators and officials from various departments. Tomorrow, Prabhat Pheri will be taken out at 8 am from Green Belt Park Gandhi Nagar to Govt. Women College Gandhi Nagar. Later in a day a FOOD SAFETY MELA, POSTER COMPETITION and function related to the FOOD SAFETY shall be organized at Govt. College for Women, Gandhi Nagar from 11 am onwards.
