JAMMU, May 01:
Finally, the only swimming pool in Jammu was opened for the trainees and other swimming enthusiasts at MA Stadium here for the season by the J&K State Sports Council (JKSSC). The exclusive sports facility was inaugurated for the members by the Divisional Sports Officer of the JKSSC, Ravi Singh in the presence of Manager MA Stadium, Ashok Singh and general secretary J&K Table Tennis Association and former member JKSSC, Ajay Sharma. Earlier, Manager Indoor Sports Complex, who also holds the charge of Swimming pool, Satish Gupta briefed his senior officer about the facilities being extended to the swimming enthusiasts. He also introduced the Sports Officer with promising swimmers of the state and those veterans of the water sports.
Also present were Iqbal Singh (officer on special duty with Divisional Sports Officer), Sanjeev Dogra-(Protocol Officer High Court of J&K and veteran swimmer), coaches from other disciplines and the staff members. Meanwhile, speaking on the occasion, Divisional Officer, Ravi Singh informed that Secretary JKSSC, Dr Naseem Javaid Choudhary was keen to open the facility in time. He asked the swimming coach of the JKSSC, Vikas Magotra to look into the talented swimmers for their grooming on professional line.
