Tantray Club bagged Kabaddi title on the concluding day of the rural sports tournament held under Khelo India at BSF Ground, Mandi, here today.
In the final, Tantray Club defeated Mandi Club 27-22 in the final. Earlier, in the semifinals, Panchayat Mandi beat Panchayat Azmabad 28-13 while Bedar Club outplayed Tantray Club 22-11.
In the final of Kabaddi and other events, District Development Commissioner (DDC) Poonch, Rahul Yadav was chief guest, who complimented the winners and the organisers for holding traditional rural sports events. Commandant BSF, Gajraj Yadav was guest of honour. Others present were Zahir Ahmed Rana (Tehsildar Mandi), Principal HSS Boys Mandi, Rashpal Singh, Principal Girls HSS Mandi, Jagdev Singh, Surinder Singh, Veerta Devi, Mustaq Ahmed, Biala Mir Mohd, Anil Sharma (SHO Mandi), Rajinder Prasad, Narjeet Singh, Narinder Singh and Ashaq Hussain.
Earlier, in the stone lifting event, Dilnawaz Ahmed bagged the first place and Sajad finished second. The wrist holding event won by Dilnawaz Ahmed while Sajad lqbal remained second. In Tug of War, Panchayat Margai Bedar defeated Panchayat Azmabad in the final.
The technical penal comprised Jatinderpaul, Amresh Sharma, Rajinder Singh, Harmik Singh, Shabbir Shamhoon, Sukhbir Singh, Manjit Singh, Ashok Sharma, Rajnish, Shabir and Rajesh Sharma.
