Team Jammu Chairman inaugurates Recreation Club for those in their ‘twilight years’

Chairman Team Jammu Zorawer Singh Jamwal inaugurated the Recreation Centre for Senior Citizens’ in Jammu with an aim to give them leisure momments in their twilight years. Senior journalist and executive member of Press Club of Jammu Dinesh Mahajan was also present on this occasion.
Addressing the gathering, Mr Jamwal lauded Smt Usha Gupta a philathorpist and activist from Agra and Dr K L Gupta founder of Lajwanti Medical Trust for taking such a golden step to setup for Senior Support Service Club (SSSC) an essence of Shanti Rattan Dignity Livid (a unit ofF Lajwanti Medical Trust) will help senior citizens to socialise and also congratulated all the Senior citizens gathered. He urged them to take full advantage of the facilities available at the centre. “This centre for senior citizens is one of its kind in the city. It will be an ideal platform for seniors to connect with seniors,” he said, adding that a society which does not respect and take care of its senior citizens cannot progress. Team Jammu Chairma added that in old age people usually feel lonely and due to due to depression they often suffer from other problems.
“This is a beautiful initiative and I congratulate the individuals who took the initiatve, he said, while adding, “we need more such platforms in our city where our elderly can come, socialise and lead a happy life.”
“Passion does not die. Some People do not leave this world till they achieve or create grounds to achieve their social goal, said Dr. K.L Gupta who brain child the idea.
“The aim of the initiative is to create an engagement platform for senior citizens to interact socially, build a support network, boost their self esteem and lead an active life,”
Located at city outskirts i.e village Chowadi some 12 kms from main city, the recreation club in the name and style of Senior Support Service Club (SSSC) an essence of Shanti Rattan Dignity Livid (a unit ofF Lajwanti Medical Trust) will help senior citizens to socialise. “Our motive is to keep the senior citizens lively and cheerful at boarding centre for elderly person. They can enrol themselves under our recently-launched senior citizen security cell and enjoy the facilities at the recreation centre. They can watch TV, read newspapers and magazines and play indoor games,” said Dr. K.L Gupta who took the initiative .
“The club is a mission of providing access to all privileges and facilities which elderly should deserve.”
This service will provide a source of recreation for elderly, a forum for social meeting where choice is provided without encumbrance for play, read, eat, gardening and Recreation club for senior citizens debate in friendly environment.
Social activist and Railway employee Ram Paul also spoke on the occasion. Among prominent present on the occasion were Retired Chief Engineer k.L. Gupta, Retired Chief Engineer PHE O.P Gupta, social activist S.K Jain, Ashok Gupta, Rajesh Gupta, Vivek Sharma, Kailash Langer, Bahadur Singh were present on the occasion.
