JAMMU, April 9: With the slogan “Serve Humanity-Serve God”, activists of Team Jammu distributed ration and other essential items among nearly 3000 needy and destitute persons in different parts of the city- at this time when nation is passing through a crucial juncture due to dreaded Coronvirus.
Dry ration was distributed among deserving migrant labourers and locals so as to ensure that no one in Jammu sleep empty stomach at this crucial time.
During the last one week, activists of Team Jammu have been engaged into distributing dry ration among needy people. On late Wednesday evening and on Thursday morning, teams constituted by the Team Jammu distributed door to door ration among needy people.
“We are providing dry ration to the underprivileged living in the slum areas and other local poor people. We are trying our best to reach out to every needy people”, chairman of Team Jammu, Zorawar Singh Jamwal said.
“At this crucial time when thousands of poor people are struggling to get food due to continues lockdown, we are trying our best no one sleep hungry atleast in Jammu. Providing food to the need people is best way to serve the humanity and there cannot be a bigger satisfaction than saving someone’s life”, he said.
Team Jammu has constituted teams in different parts of the city including Shakti Nagar, Rajpura, Shanti Nagar, Toph Sherkhanian, Upper Shiv Nagar, Subash Nagar, Lower Shiv Nagar, Gurha Bakshi Nagar, Krishna Nagar, Neta ji Subash Chander Chowk and Maheshpura to identify deserving families-both migrant labourers and locals who are in a dire need of ration.
Team Jammu is especially focusing on those families whose bread-earners have become jobless due to lockdown.
“Our volunteers are also facing their worst times. They are worried about their own sustenance for the next 20 days or so. But they appear to be more worried about how others, more needy persons would survive. They have taken the initiative to help the poorest of poor,” Jamwal said and pointed out volunteers are contributing from their own pockets.
