Mumbai based known Tele Film Maker and Television Actress , Producer and Director Rashmi Sharma Rai held a Press Conference in Jammu and impressed upon the Government to provide a ” Duggar Sattelite Channel ”
in Jammu as a mouth piece for furtherence of Dogri Language and Duggar Culture like other states and cultures .
Rashmi Sharma Rai is daughter of former veteran and popular Director of All India Radio Jammu , Late Shri Ghanshayam Sharma She received her Schooling , College and University Education in Jammu . Right from her childhood she was associated with cultural activities and has bagged many awards and prizes at state and national level . Her maiden venture in leading role was in first tele serial of Jammu Doordarshan . After passing as A Grade artist in acting from DD Kashmir and B High Grade artist from AIR Jammu , she never looked back . Hailing from Bihar , she considers Jammu as her second home as she was groomed and nurtured in Jammu as a student and as an Artist as well . She is married to Vinay Rai a senior Executive in Ambani Enterprises . Dogra Harish Kaila remained her official local guardien when she was studying in Jammu . She observed with a pinch of salt that both AIR Jammu and DD Jammu have since stopped the production activities which are imperative for creativity , innovations and professionalism for the buddying artists . She appealed to start the production in both AIR and DD Jammu . She also suggested that even the DD Jammu with existing infrastructure could be converted into Duggar Sattelite Channel which is need of the hour to provide a platform for the Writers and Artists to enhance and sharpen their skills she observed . She said that the cultural and linguistic heretage of Jammu and Kashmir is highly diversified and propogation of cultures is must for unity .
