Prominent social worker from Basholi, Darshan Singh Thakkar along with supporters on Wednesday joined Bharatiya Janata Party at its headquarter, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.
Darshan Singh Thakkar contested the 2014 assembly election from Basholi Constituency and has very high say among the people in Basohli Constituency and it will give boost to BJP in this Constituency.
BJP State President Ravinder Raina, former deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta, BJP State General Secretary (Org.) Ashok Koul, State Spokespersons Brig. Anil Gupta and Balbir Ram Rattan welcomed Darshan Singh Thakkar and his supporters in BJP. Prominent among those who joined BJP alongwith Darshan Singh Thakkar are many Sarpanches such as Jeet Singh, Devendra Singh, Kuldeep Kumar, Shankar, Anant Ram, Sharan Singh, Tejender Singh, Rajender, Maheshi, Aashri Devi, Bhopender Singh, Jitendra Singh, Balbir Padha, Karmchand, Amar Singh, Sandeep Singh, Lochan Singh, Mahtam Singh, Sheru Singh and others.
Ravinder Raina, while addressing during the programme, said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has boosted development, economic policies, fight with social evils, uplifting of downtrodden and many more reforms. He enumerated schemes like PMGSY, Ujjawala Yojana, power set ups and other development works. He said today the first choice of people for Prime Minister Post is Modi ji and they want to connect and contribute in BJP’s success story of 2019.
Raina, welcomed Darshan Singh on the occasion and counted his contributions as prominent social activist from Basohli region.
He also appreciated Darshan Singh’s endeavors as entrepreneur in the region, generating employment for more than thousand persons.
Kavinder Gupta, congratulated Darshan singh for his decision to join the BJP and said that this will strengthen the party in the Basohli region.
He said that we have entered in the phase of elections, and now we all need to strengthen the hands of PM Modi with the dedicated services of social workers like Darshan Singh.
Speaking on the occasion Darshan Singh Thakkar said he is inspired of Prime Minister Narendra Modi who has taken Nation in new era of development, which is inspiring people in every sphere of life.
He said that the areas of Basohli and adjoining parts remained neglected in matters related to development for decades and the people there have seen now construction of roads, proper supply of water and electricity during the rule of BJP under PM Modi. It inspired me to join BJP along with my supporters, he said.
