Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) general secretary Yudhvir Sethi joined by former minister and Spokesperson BJP Priya Sethi held special prayers on the occassion of Shani Jayanti and prayed for world peace at old hospital road.
They also distributed langar (community meals) amongst devotees.
Speaking on the occasion Yudhvir Sethi said Shani Jayanti is held in honour of the mighty Lord Saturn as this day is considered as the birthday of the planet God Saturn. Women also observe a fast and follow Vat Savitri Vrata on this day.
He added that Maa Parvati had given a boon to Shani that no important event in the life of a person will occur, unless Shani gives his divine sanctity to that work.
Earlier, Yagya was solemnized on the occasion of Shani Jayanti with full religious fervour and gaiety today at JDA parking, old hospital road.
Large number of devotees who had stated gathering at the venue offered prayers and participated in the function.
Among others present included Corporator Anil Masoom, Kartar Ji, Govind Sareen, Mukesh Ji, Savita Anand, Saroj and others were present.
Yudhvir Sethi said that Shani plays the role of a teacher or a fair judge in our lives and thus people perform Havana and offer prayers on Shani Jayanti. He added that those blessed by Shani never have to go through challenging times in their lives; their success is rightly earned, and thus it stays with them.
Not only that, Lord Shani showers these people with unimaginable gains and good times.
He also assured the committee members that whatever possible will be done to build a architecturally beautiful Shani temple and more and more devotees will be made to work in unison to celebrate such occasions in future as well.
