Security forces arrested three militant associates along with arms and ammunition in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said on Monday
The trio identified by police as Dawood Ahmad Dar, Imtiyaz Ahmad Reshi and Shahid Ahmad Dar, all residents of Hassanpora Tavela, were detained during a joint naka checking operation at Hassanpora Tulkhan Road.
Police said the arrests were made by a joint team of Anantnag Police, Army’s 1 Rashtriya Rifles and 90 battalion CRPF.
During the operation, security forces recovered a substantial cache of arms and ammunition from their possession.
Police said the recoveries included a pistol, with a magazine, eight pistol rounds and grenade and an Improvised Explosive Device (IED).

anti-national elements in the district,” a police statement said.
In this regard, a case under section 3/4 Explosive Substance Act, 7/25 Arms Act, and 18, 20, 23, 38 UA(P) Act has been registered at Police Station Bijbehara, and an investigation is underway.
Meanwhile, Deputy Inspector General of south Kashmir range Javid Iqbal Matoo chaired a security review meeting in Kulgam today.
During the meeting, the officers discussed the recent security developments along with the current challenges including the measures to counter these challenges, a police spokesman said.
DIG Matoo emphasized the need to review and enhance the security plans and to design effective counter insurgency strategies for smooth and peaceful conduct of the forthcoming events.
SSP Kulgam Sahil Sarangal gave a detailed presentation regarding the security arrangements put in place for ongoing Amarnath Yatra, forthcoming Independence Day, anti-terrorist operation, maintenance of law and order, measures taken to eradicate drug menace and other important issues.
DIG also stressed the need to enhance the security of vulnerable targets and to ensure foolproof security arrangements for the upcoming events and directed the officers to closely monitor social media platforms to prevent any attempt to spread mis-information impacting public safety and order.
