Sampuran Kranthi Rath Yatra, an initiative of Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) to educate and unite traders across the nation against FDI in Retail and its catastrophic effects on small and medium traders, reached Jammu today. The “KrantiRath “which left Delhi on 15 sept, 2018 covered more than 24 states before reaching Jammu.
Welcoming the KrantiRath at Satwari Chowk, Neeraj Anand, President Chambers of Traders Federation and National Vice-President, CAIT said it is for the first time in the history of Independent India that Traders compelled by the changing Business environment were forced to undertake such a Rathyatra as biased govt. policies are posing threat to survival of seven crore small traders. Sharing his experience after covering 24 states, Mr Varinder Singh Walia said, Traders across the National are up in arms against faulty government Policies that favour Deep Pocket Giants over small retailers. He added that there is strong resentment amongst trading community against the current policies of the Government and if corrective measures are not taken, ramifications would be there to be seen for all election results in Hindi Heartland stand testimony to my claim added, Walia. Later addressing a traders cup press meet, at Amar Singh Club, Neeraj said that traders in Jammu are facing a double whammy wehre adverse socio political conditions have restricted growth of trade and the faulty decision to allow Toll Tax on Goods has shifted balance of trade in favour of neighboring States. He thanked Sh BC Bhartia, National President CAIT and Sh Parveen Khandelwal, Gen Sect, CAIT for launching a movement to unite and educate traders across the nation.
