Addl. District Development Commissioner, Rajouri Sh. A.S. Chib KAS in presence of Ch. Lal Hussain Chief Education Officer, Rajouri and Mr. Rajiv Khajuria Founder Emeritus NDF inaugurated One Day Training of Head Teachers on Child Friendly School Approach Organized by National Development Foundation (NDF) in collaboration with Department of Education, Rajouri and in partnership with UNICEF on 18th June 2018 at Boys Higher Secondary School, Rajouri. 100 Head teachers of Education Zone Rajouri & Baljarallan were trained on Child Friendly School approach today which focused on comprehensive, participatory approach to improve the quality of Education and aims to revamp schools and systems through integration of child Friendly principles in policy, planning, teacher support systems, development of teaching-learning materials and pedagogical processes. Mr. Imran Khan, Mr. Manoj Kumar, Mrs. Saima Tak, Mrs. Geeta Bharti were the main resource persons during the training programme. The technical sessions were facilitated by Mr. Parvinder Singh Programme Manager NDF, Mr. Inderjeet Sharma DPO NDF and Mr. Sunny Kumar Programme Coordinator NDF. In November 2017, NDF trained 25 Master trainers on Child Friendly School Approach in Rajouri District who are further cascading down the same training to 300 teachers and 300 SMC/VEC members of 150 schools of Rajouri and Baljarallan Educational Zonal of Rajouri District. Today’s one day training of Head Teachers is the first training among series of trainings to be organized for teachers and SMC/VEC members in Rajouri district in the month of June and August 2018. ADDC Rajouri while interacting with the participants appreciated the training on such an important topic and requested the participants to transfer the learnings of the trainings in their respective institutions to setup child friendly school approach in the schools that will attract the children towards the schools and will also minimize the number of dropouts.
Chief Education Officer Rajouri Ch. Lal Hussain also interacted with the participants and apprised that UNICEF and NDF are organizing series of training programmes from the last more than five years and the change is witnessed in these schools and the best practices adopted by these schools will further be replicated in other schools. Mr. Rajiv Khajuria Founder Emeritus NDF also briefed about the intervention of NDF and UNICEF in 150 target schools and provide a brief overview of the programme. Mrs. Neha Gandotra Chief Operating Officer NDF emphasize on need of Child Friendly approach in schools to improve the overall quality of education and to enhance learning levels of children to ensure retention of children in schools in J&K. She also stressed on the critical role of Head teachers in creating child friendly schools in Rajouri district.
