It’s Sunday again, which means it is time for Trending Tunes with Bollywoodlife. One uber-romantic number is shining bright on music charts, and we bet you love it too.
Tamma Tamma Again (Badrinath Ki Dulhania)
This new song has retained the charm of the original and in fact, what I really liked about this ‘tribute’, as Varun and Alia would like to call it is the fact that they even retained the original voices of Bappi Lahiri and Anuradha Paudwal. The song is a major throwback to the Sanjay Dutt-Madhuri Dixit starrer. What makes song more foottapping is the few beats added by Tanishk Bagchi and also the video that does full justice to the track.
Aashiq Surrender Hua (Badrinath Ki Dulhania)
This song takes us back to those superhit chartbuster Govinda songs of the ’90s. It has the feel of ‘Main Toh Raste Ja Raha Tha’ from Coolie No. 1. The fun number is composed by Amaal Malik and he has crooned the track as well with Shreya Ghoshal. Amaal and Shreya, both are a unique choice for a song like this and they nail it. The lyrics by Shabbir Ahmed are quirky and go well with the feel of the film. Overall, this song is sure to make you shake a leg whenever it’s on.
Whats Up (Phillauri)
Quirkily titled What’s Up, the song follows the pre wedding rituals of Suraj Singh with Anushka Sharma‘s spirit hovering around him. The song also takes us back to the past where Diljeet Dosanjh and Anushka’s love story can be seen. Diljit Singh lip syncing to Mika Singh’s voice seems odd considering Diljit is such a good singer.
Humsafar (Badrinath Ki Dulhania)
Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan’s chemistry is brilliant in the music video of Humsafar. We see Badrinath pour his heart out while maintaining the dignity about the fact that his ‘Dulhania’ only wants to be friends.
Dum Dum (Phillauri)
The soulful Sufi rendition has been put together by Romy, Vivek Hariharn who are bound to touch your hearts within the very first few seconds. Little did we expect the visuals too will be so emotionally drivenSo, come back next week for another musical round up with Bollywoodlife.
