On the auspicious occasion of Bharat Ratna and former Chief Minister of Bihar, Karpoori Thakur Ji’s birth anniversary, a special program was organised with the collaboration of various social groups from Jammu and Kashmir. The event witnessed the participation of Congress leader Madan Lal Chalotra Chairman OBC Department, Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC), Darshan Mehra & Amit Mehra, State Coordinators OBC Department, JKPCC, Jagdish Raj & Prem Sagar Joint coordinators OBC Department JKPCC. The objective of the program was to honor Karpoori Thakur Ji’s principles of social justice and discuss their relevance in today’s context.
Karpoori Thakur Ji’s life was a testament to sacrifice and struggle. He dedicated himself to the upliftment of the underprivileged, marginalized, and oppressed sections of society.
He firmly believed that a progressive society could only be achieved when the weakest and most disadvantaged members are granted justice, equality, and dignity.
During the event, an insightful discussion was held on the theme, “Ensuring Social Justice in Jammu and Kashmir.”
Leaders and social activists emphasized the need to implement Karpoori Thakur Ji’s ideals at the grassroots level. It was unanimously agreed that achieving justice and equality for the marginalized requires both political and social commitment.
Participants pledged to work collectively for the empowerment of underprivileged communities through social and political means. Efforts to eliminate caste-based discrimination, exploitation, and inequality will be prioritized, with a focus on awareness campaigns and inclusive policymaking.
The program concluded with a resolution to address rising atrocities in Jammu and Kashmir and to ensure adequate political and social representation for marginalized groups. The participants committed to accelerating efforts to bridge the gap of inequality and to work tirelessly towards creating a society rooted in justice and fairness.
