Two-Day Induction Programme for New Students Culminates at MIER College

MIER College of Education organized a two-day induction program for its incoming M.Phil, M.Ed, M.A. Education and B.Ed General Education students. Dr. Renu Gupta, Vice Chairperson, Dr. Adit Gupta, Principal MIER College, Dr. N.R. Sharma, Dean Academics, Dr. H.R. Shan, Controller Examination along with HoDs of different departments and the faculty were present on the occasion.
Day One induction program commenced with the registration of new students followed by the welcome address of the principal,Dr. Adit Gupta. He formally welcomed the students to the MIER family and said that the college has been conferred with autonomous status and this has helped the college to grow and develop with greater academic freedom. Dr. Gupta informed the students that MIER College conducts its own final examsand declares the results in time, which would benefit the students applying for higher education. He emphasized that students need to work hard to meet the expectations of the program as it includes a broad spectrum of hands-on activities and an intense internship program.
Dr. Gupta also guided the students to utilize the resources available in the college like the ICT, rich library resources in term of books and online journals and periodicals, educational research facilities, and the psychological laboratory.
Dr. Renu Gupta, Vice Chairperson MIER welcomed and blessed the new students of both UG and PG Departments. She advised them to put their 100% in the program to become effective teachers, teacher educators, and researchers.
She wished them all the best in their learning endeavor.
This was followed by self-introduction of the faculty. A visual presentation in the form of a documentary on the history and the achievements of the college “The MIER Saga” was shown to students. Lastly, students introduced themselves and shared their hobbies and skills
TheHoDs of PG and UG Departments, Dr. Mool Raj Sharma and Dr. Rohnika Sharma informed the students about the activities, responsibilities, and expectations of the departments and also provided an overview of the program. A guided college tour was organized for the incoming students. On day two of the induction program an introduction of the theory papers of semester 1stwas given by the faculty of the UG and PG departments. The program concluded witha “talent hunt” activity where students showcased their talent.
