Two days Annual check-up and counselling of Thalassemic patients by national experts were organized in Thalassemia Day Care Centre by J&K Thalassemia Welfare society Jammu in collaboration with Deptt. of Pediatrics SMGS Hospital Jammu.
Renowned Haematologist & Ex HOD Haematology AIIMS New Delhi, Dr. VP Choudhary and Thalassemia specialist and General Secretary National Thalassemia Welfare Society Delhi, Dr.J S Arora were the guest faculty on the occasion. They examined the thalassemia patients and discussed their individual problems & complications and also counseled their parents about various aspects of disease.
This was followed by guest lectures by the invited faculty on Thrombocytopenia & Thalassemia respectively and they appreciated the work being done by the Thalassemia Day Care Center SMGS Hospital Jammu.
Dr. Sanjeev K Digra Professor Pediatrics and Coordinator Thalassemia Day Care Center SMGS Hospital explained about the working of Thalassemia Day Care Center & appreciated the role being played by the J&K Thalassemia Welfare Society Jammu for the welfare of these patients. Dr Rajesh Kaul delivered an awareness lecture on Typhoid and Typhoid Vaccination.
Also present on occasion were Prof & Head Dr. Rekha Harish. Prof Dr. G S Saini, Dr. Sunil Dutt Sharma, Dr. Ashu Jamwal, Dr. M. Razaq, Dr. Anuj Bhatti, Dr. Ravi Parihar , Dr. Koushal Khajuria, Dr. Ajay Choudhary, Dr. Arun Gandotra, Dr. Falak & Dr Ritu.
The function was also attended by Ex HODs of Deptt. of Pediatrics Dr. D B Sharma and Dr.Ashok Gupta and ex HOD blood bank Dr.Kum Kum Sharma. JKTWS Society members namely Er. Sudhir Sethi, President. Mr. Rajinder Pathak, Gen. Secy.Mr. Shammi Kapoor, Mr. Narinder Mahajan, Mr. Puneet Gandotra, Mr. Sunandan Anand, Er. Rajinder Bali, Er. Prem Gupta, & executive members namely Shivam Vaid, Khemraj, Raghav & Aayushi along with staff of Day Care Center worked round the clock to make the Camp a success.
Er. Sudhir Sethi, President of J&K Thalassemia welfare society presented the vote of thanks & JKTWS honored the Guest Faculty with Shawls as a token of love and regards.
