Launching a scathing attack on the BJP Govt, JKPYC State President Udhay Bhanu Chib has accused the party’s Jammu and Kashmir unit of having miserably failed to address the genuine concerns and issues of the common people in the ongoing crisis situation due to the second wave of COVID-19 with the fresh corona positive cases increasing drastically with each passing day.
Addressing media persons here today, Chib said that the common people especially the poor and needy people are being harassed by not allowing them movement during the night curfew even in case of medical emergencies. He regretted that a common man is not allowed to move out after 10:00Pm which is fair enough but on the other side BJP leaders and activists are enjoying party till late night and there is no restriction at all for them.
Chib accused the BJP leaders of promoting corruption by being in hand and glove with the authorities in administration and both being busy in minting money through corrupt means. He said that illegal extraction of sand and bajri has become the easiest source of making money for the BJP leaders and their supporters in administration. He said that a trolley of the aforesaid materials that cost Rs. 1000 earlier, today costs more than Rs. 5000 and all the money of the illegal mining and extraction goes to the BJP and the corrupt officials.
The Youth Congress President J&K alleged that today even common people stand overburdened by their power and water bills amid pandemic’s second wave and in some cases these bills amount to lakhs. He demanded that the government should waiver these bills in case of the common consumers especially those who are poor and needy.
Chib said that the poor who are yet to come out of the financial crisis that struck them during the first wave of COVID-19 are now caught in the second wave which has further aggravated their financial crisis multifold. He urged the government to provide immediate financial support to the poor and needy people for whom even making a square meal is no less than a herculean task.
Ricky Dalotra General Secretary JKPYC has took the issue of common masses with Executive Engineer Power Jammu and demanded to wave off electricity bill of all the needful people.
Ajaz Choudhary Vice President Youth Congress, Sandeep Sharma Chief Spokesperson JKPYC and Latish Sharma Secretary JKPYC were present in the press conference.
