UDHAMPUR, Oct 23:
Udhampur Kabaddi Club won the Junior District Kabaddi Championship which was organised by Udhampur District Kabaddi Association under the banner of J&K Amateur Kabaddi Association (JKAKA) at Subash Stadium, here today.
In the title clash, Udhampur Club defeated Majalta Club 30-16. Similarly, in girls section, again Udhampur Club trounced Jaganoo Club 29-09 in a one-sided contest.
Raj Kumar and Sunil were awarded Best Raiders while Satinder Singh named best catcher of the tournament in boys section.
In girls category, Kanika adjudged best player
District Police chief, Rayees Mohammad Bhat was the chief guest, who gave away prizes to the winners and runners-up teams.
He congratulated and appreciated the efforts of the organizing committee for smooth and successful conduct of the tournament. Deputy District Election Commissioner Udhampur, Sapna Kotwal was guest of honour.
This tournament held under the patronage of Anil Gupta, president J&K Amateur Kabaddi Association and chairmanship of Ravi Basandi, president Udhampur District Kabaddi Association.
Among others present were Surinder Mohan (general secretary JKAKA), Kuldeep Gupta (CEO JKAKA), Brij Mohan Sharma, Ashok Sharma, Ranbir Singh, Vikram Salathia (Municipal Counselor), Vijay Manhas, Pushpjeet Singh, Zameel Singh, Jugal Kishore, Sanjeev Verma, Ravi Kumar, Vipin Photra, Vishal Bamotra and Ram Kumar.
The matches were officiated by Ajit Singh, Rakesh Kumar, Rakesh Khajuria, Parshotam Kumar, Angrez Singh, Pushp Kumar, Ramesh Chander, Rishi Sharma and Bikram Singh.
