Ujjwala Yojana could cover entire India because of transparent NDA govt: Yudhvir Sethi

Jammu : BJP General Secretary Yudhvir Sethi today said that Centre after distributing over seven crore LPG connections under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) had achieved target within 34 months of the scheme’s launch. This could become possible because a complete transparent and effective government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi was functioning since past six years. 

Yudhvir Sethi was speaking at a function organised in connecting with distributing cooking gas cylinders to women in Purani Mandi area today. Scores of women were provided with Gas Connections to ease their sufferings of using stoves or fire fuel for cooking. Those present on the occasion appreciated the move and said that it’s a dream coming true for them.

The BJP leader said Nearly 69,000 connections were released per day resulting which there was a huge jump in the LPG coverage in the country, having gone up from 55 per cent in 2014 to 93 per cent in 2019. As per the recent data, 82 per cent PMUY beneficiaries are going for refilling their cylinder and average refilling is about 6.5 cylinders per beneficiary, he informed.

Yudhvir Sethi said that under the scheme, deposit-free LPG connection is being provided to a poor household and the connection is released in the name of an adult woman member of the household. He urged party workers to ensure that deserving people seek maximum benefit of this scheme besides that of Aayushmaan Bharat where free medical aid provided to the patient.
