The Red Ribbon Club, in collaboration with the NSS units of GGM Science College, concluded the week-long AIDS Awareness Week with a valedictory function held in the college’s Conference Hall. The event was graced by Principal Prof. (Dr.) Romesh Kumar Gupta, who served as the Chief Guest and lauded the efforts of the organizers and participants in raising awareness about HIV/AIDS. The awareness week witnessed a series of activities aimed at educating students and the community about HIV/AIDS prevention, reducing stigma, and fostering a supportive environment. A poster-making competition encouraged students to showcase their creativity by designing impactful visuals that highlighted key messages about HIV/AIDS awareness and stigma reduction. An awareness rally, organized by NSS volunteers and Red Ribbon Club members, involved students marching through the campus and nearby areas with banners and slogans, effectively spreading awareness. Additionally, a human chain formation was organized, symbolizing unity and solidarity in the fight against HIV/AIDS. The valedictory function was organized under the guidance of Prof. P.S. Thakur, Dr. Bhekampal Singh, Prof. Sunita Kumari, and NSS Programme Officers Dr. Rahul Kait and Dr. Neha Sharma. During his address, Principal Prof. Gupta highlighted the role of youth in eradicating stigma and misinformation about HIV/AIDS and encouraged students to serve as advocates for change within their communities.
