JAMMU, Mar 26:
Vedang and Ananya of district Jammu won under-12 Foil gold in boys and girls sections respectively on the opening day of the
17th J&K State Fencing Championship at Gymnasium Hall of University of Jammu (JU), here today.
Earlier, the competition declared open by Incharge Director Sports and Physical Education, JU, Dr Daud Iqbal Baba, who was chief guest.
The event is organised by the J&K Amateur Fencing Association.
Among others present were MJ Sharma (president of the Association), Vijay Sharma (patron), Shotu Lal Sharma, Rachna Jamwal and Pritam Slathia (all coaches).
As also Rashid Ahmed, Ajay Khartol, Anthony Mattoo, Tony Mattoo, Abdul Qadir, Pritam Slathia, Rahul Sharma, Shivani hans, Shreya Chib and Mokshi Sharma.
BOYS: Under – 12: FOIL: Vedang, Jammu district, Ist; Sharanpreet, JU Academy, 2nd; Harshvardhan, Jammu and Girish, Jammu, joint 3rd. SABRE: Pratyaksh, JK Montesoori Club, Ist; Atharv, Jammu, 2nd; Varchesva, 3rd. UNDER-17: EPEE: Sahiban Singh, Jammu, Ist; Saksham, Jammu, 2nd; Saksham, Jammu and Siddrath, Jammu, joint 3rd.
GIRLS: Under – 12: FOIL: Ananya, Jammu, Ist; Vanya, Jammu, 2nd; Ipsita, Jammu and Richa, Jammu, joint 3rd. SABRE: Vaibhav, Jammu, Ist; Samiksha, Jammu, 2nd; Sargam, Jammu, 3rd. Under-14: FOIL: Suhani, Jammu, Ist; Shriya, Jammu, 2nd; Mahima, Jammu and Simran, Reasi, joint 3rd.
