Vice Chairperson of District Development Council (DDC) Reasi, Adv. Sajra Qadir, met with Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary here today to discuss the pressing issue of road connectivity in Subdivision Mahore. Highlighting the vital need for infrastructural development in the remote areas of Reasi district, Adv. Qadir urged the PMGSY (Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana) to prioritize key road projects that will significantly improve accessibility and transform the socio-economic landscape of the region.
During the meeting, Adv. Qadir presented a detailed proposal for urgent road connectivity projects, emphasizing the strategic importance of linking remote villages with key facilities such as government offices, educational institutions, healthcare centers, and markets. She specifically highlighted the following critical road and bridge projects that require immediate attention and execution like Ranglai to Dewal & Gungla, Badder to Shabras, Bagga to Badder, Paghiala to Kaindora via Jamia Masjid Baransal and Gulabgarh, Gader to Middle School Shabras via Bdi Arbais, Jamia Masjid Khore to Dandhyala, Damhalan to Lar to connect government offices, Dewal to Jamia Masjid Kaindora, Lard to Balmatkote, Badder to Leon Gali, Footbridge from Lar to Kangti (PWD) and Dewal Dogga to Nihoch
Adv. Qadir stated, “These roads are not just pathways; they are lifelines for the people of Mahore. Improved road connectivity will unlock new opportunities, reduce travel time, and facilitate better access to essential services. The lack of proper infrastructure has long been a bottleneck for development in these areas, and it’s time to address this issue with urgency.” She also stressed the need for timely completion of these projects, citing that many proposed roads have been delayed due to procedural bottlenecks. Adv. Qadir urged the PMGSY department to adopt a proactive approach and ensure that these projects are completed within stipulated timelines to benefit the public at the earliest. In response, Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary appreciated Adv. Qadir’s dedication to the development of Reasi district and assured her of the government’s commitment to improving road connectivity in the region. He directed the concerned departments to prioritize these projects and instructed them to work closely with local stakeholders to overcome any hurdles.
Adv. Qadir also proposed regular reviews and inspections of ongoing projects to ensure transparency and accountability in the execution process. She underlined the importance of involving local communities in the planning and implementation stages to address their specific needs effectively.
The Vice Chairperson reaffirmed her commitment to advocating for the welfare of the people in Subdivision Mahore. “We must work together to bridge the gap between remote communities and mainstream development.
Roads are the backbone of progress, and it is our responsibility to ensure that no village is left isolated,” she said.
The meeting concluded with a resolution to expedite the planning and implementation of road projects in Subdivision Mahore, ensuring that the long-standing aspirations of the residents are fulfilled.
