Vice Chancellor University of Jammu, Jammu Prof. R.D. Sharma today visited Govt. Degree College Kishtwar for having interaction with students and faculty of the College. Earlier he was given a warm welcome by the students and faculty of the College. Later on the interactive session started with a welcome address by Prof. Pawan Sharma, Acting Principal of the College in his welcome address presented a brief profile of the College and also highlighted various issues and problems faced by the college. Speaking on the occasion Prof. Sharma deliberated on different issues of academics, admission and examination of Jammu University and said that it is because of the hard work of the faculty and other staff of the University and its allied Colleges that the University has touched to newer heights and is now being ranked among the top Universities of the Country. Prof. Sharma also replied to all the queries raised by the students and the faculty members of the college.
Dr. Sharma in his adress also addressed the issue of CBCS system besides also beriefed on provision of College teachers to act as research guides. Towards the end he advised the students to shun away the path of protests in the name of various political parties and remain loyal to the parent institution and stressed to focus on the academics and extra curricular programmes like NCC, NSS etc.
Among others Prof. (Dr.) Haq Nawaz Sheikh, Director Kishtwar Campus of Jammu University, Prof. Mohd. Assadullah Wani, Dr. Neeraj Sharma, Special Secretary to Vice Chancellor in addition to the staff members and students attended the interactive Session.
The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Prof.(Dr.) Ashaq Hussain while highlighting various issues pertaining to admission, examination etc.
The program ended with a formal vote of thanks by Prof. Surinder Kumar Sen, HOD Physics.
