Amitabh Bachchan starrer 2016 National award-winning film ‘Pink’ directed by Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury which also starred Taapsee Pannu, Kirti Kulhari, Andrea Tariang in the lead roles was quite a bit nerve cracker.
The film had received widespread critical acclaim and was also screened at the United Nations headquarters for its portrayal of sensitive issues regarding women’s rights and dignity.
The film was also a box office hit. ‘Pink’ is all set to get its Tamil remake and has been in the news for a long time.
Thala Ajith will reprise the role of Amitabh Bachchan in the remake. Now producer Boney Kapoor has confirmed that actress Vidya Balan will also be a part of the Tamil remake. Boney Kapoor said that Vidya’s role will be more than a special appearance. Director H Vinoth has incorporated certain changes to suit the Tamil market and Vidya character has been accordingly written to it.
Earlier Boney Kapoor had revealed that the Tamil remake of ‘Pink’ will hit the theaters on May 1, 2019. It was Ajith who had suggested the late actress Sridevi to remake the film in Tamil to which she immediately agreed.
The producer and the actor will reportedly collaborate for another project that will be scheduled to go on the floors in July 2019 and will be released in April 2020.
Vidya Balan also has a pretty good list of South Indian films lined up for her. The actress is all set to make her Telegu debut in the NTR biopic.
