Vishal Khatri Sabha on Sunday welcomed the statement of Union Home Minister Amit Shah on restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir and said this will be a step forward in fulfilling the aspirations of the people. Vishal Khatri Sabha J&K President Devender Seth in a meeting held here in Jammu today expressed confidence that the way Narendra Modi government’s schemes are being implemented in the union territory; Statehood will be restored soon like restoration of 4G Mobile internet services.
Governor rule or any bureaucratic regime can never be a substitute, to elected government in J&K. No doubt BJP Govt wants peace and development in the region and has implemented several schemes, however Seth urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take necessary follow-through action by restoring statehood before holding Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir. Seth further said that people of J&K with their overwhelming participation in the polls have exemplified the level of their commitment to a vibrant democracy in recently concluded DDC elections. The massive participation of the people in the DDC elections is reflective of their innate desire for a real democratic structure available to the residents of other States in the country wherein the people are the masters of their own decisions,” he added. Assembly elections should be held so that the people’s aspirations can be represented in the Govt. Seth highlighted and appreciated the centrally sponsored schemes launched by the BJP led union government benefiting the people across Jammu and Kashmir including the women in remote areas. He demanded the restoration of special status to Jammu and Kashmir and early statehood status to it. “The restoration of special status and early statehood will strengthen the belief of people in this country,” he said. Seth said a commitment was made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah “on the floor of the house” and that he was of the opinion it was “on the anvil”.
“We believe that PM Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah will fulfill the promises. We believe that statehood will be restored soon,” he said.
