JAMMU, Jan 21:
Jammu and Kashmir boys’ team shall leave for participation in the 46th Junior National Volleyball Championship tomorrow. The competition shall be held at Razampet, Kadappa in Andhra Pradesh from January 26.
Earlier, the team was selected and despatched for the venue by the Volleyball Association of Jammu and Kashmir (VAJK) after conducting the mandatory screening by the J&K Sports Council.
The team also underwent a 17 days coaching camp at District Police Line (DPS) Volleyball ground.
Meanwhile, president of the Association, Sidharth Daluja and other office bearers of the VAJK distributed the sports kits to the players and wished them improved results in the National Championship.
Abdul Ahad Shah, Naresh Kumar and Subash Kumar Shastri have been nominated officials (manager and coach) of the team.
Placed in group-B, J&K boys shall take on Himachal Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Tripura, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.
The Team: Shabir Ahmed Tantra, Umar Majeed (both Baramulla), Varun Badyal, Shubam Sharma (both Kathua), Abdul Khaliq, Syed Amar Safdar (both Kulgam), Pankaj Sharma, Vipan Kumar, Rohit Singh (all Jammu), Ibrar Ahmed (Kupwara), Neeraj Kumar of Ramgarh (Samba) and Suhail Zahoor (Budgam).
