To mark ‘Voluntary Blood Donation Day” District Health Society Ramban in collaboration with Nation First (NF) Trust a social organisation today organised a blood donation camp here at District Hospital (DH). Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Janak Raj, Dy. CMO, Dr. Iqbal Bhat, Medical Superintendent DH, Ramban, Dr. JP Singh and Chairman Nation First (NF) Trust, Neeraj Singh Chib besides doctors, volunteers and staff members of DH attended the camp. A number of voluntaries of NF Trust donated the blood and pledged to serve the humanity.
Speaking on the occasion, the CMO informed that this year Indian Society of Blood Transfusion and Immunohaematology is celebrating the day to promote blood donation by healthy individuals to those who urgently require it due to some medical condition.
He thanked the volunteers, unpaid blood donors for their life-saving gifts of blood. He further called for spreading awareness about the need for regular blood donation to ensure that all individuals and communities have access to free and timely supplies of safe and quality-assured blood.
The Chairman Nation First (NF) Trust also appreciated the youth for donating blood. He said that blood donation not only save lives of others but also helps the donor live longer and in a healthier way.
