Taking the poll battle to Samba District, JKPCC Working President and Congress contesting candidate from Jammu Reasi Parliamentary seat, Raman Bhalla today accused BJP of engaging in vote bank politics and misusing money and muscle power to suppress the voice of opposition in country. Prominent among those who accompanied Bhalla include Ex Minister Yashpal Kundal, Vice President and Treasurer Rajnish Sharma Mian, General Secretary TS Tony, Secretary JKPCC Dawarka Choudhary, District President Samba Sanjeev Sharma, Jagdeep Choudhary, Jaspreet Kour , Prem Pal Dogra AAP Leader, Rajinder Singh Randhawa, Kalash Chander Saini, Bharat Bushan Kundal, Sarpanch Jagdish Raj, Sarpanch Sham Lal, Ex Sarpanch Deepu Singh, Surinder Devagorha, Yash Budda, Shamsher, Tilak Raj, Sham Lal, Kuldeep, Sanjeev Katal, Kamaljeet Singh, Angrez Singh and others.
Speaking on the occasion, Bhalla alleged that BJP never worked for the interest of the people of the region and exhorted them to ‘wipe out’ it in the coming Lok Sabha and assembly polls in J&K. “Support Congress and I promise to provide you everything in one year which BJP did not even in 10 years,” he said and promised to ensure a stable, transparent and people-friendly government at the Centre as well as in J&K.. “I appeal to the youths to fulfill the dream of the Father of the Nation by discarding BJP and bringing their own Congress to power both at the Centre and the state,” he quipped.Alleging that BJP had resorted to money and muscle power to buy opposition candidates, Bhalla urged voters to show door to BJP for ditching them on every vital issue. He blamed BJP of suppressing the opposition through fraudulent means and said it was not the true spirit of democracy.
Time has come for the people to understand the conspiracy of BJP, he saidAs long as employment and economic opportunities are not created, the youth will continue to feel dejected. We have a substantial youth population and we need to tap their energy positively for the growth of the country,” he said.”We can only engage with the youth when we offer them better employment opportunities and unemployment is a soaring problem in the Union territory and the present regime has no roadmap available to tackle it,” Bhalla said.
Bhalla said he would continue to stand for the legal and genuine rights of the people of the Union territory.”Our agenda is pro-people and we will ensure the people of Jammu and Kashmir are empowered with socioeconomic rights,” he said.”We all know that whole J&K was overlooked by BJP Govt. The region has an immense economic crisis with poor job opportunities for the local educated youth. I know its potential and challenges,” he said.
He said that Jammu and Kashmir has suffered immensely during the recent years and all eyes were now upon the secular and credible options to correct the wrongs committed in governance. I am committed to work for the welfare of the people of J&K in whatever capacity I am in now. At a personal level, for me and my family, it is my moral duty to serve people of J&K and since God has been kind to me there is no reason for me not to trust in his benevolence this time round. I stand by my choices, political or otherwise and my supporters believe that I know best, added Bhalla.
Bhalla said policies and programmes of BJP Govt have failed to target the last person in the queue in terms of service delivery and livelihood avenues.Govt failed in speeding up infrastructure development and strengthening mechanism to provide basic amenities to all for improving the livelihood. In absence of elected Govt, people have no medium to get their grievances addressed. So, every person here is frustrated.
Exuding confidence that the people will keep the flame of unity and brotherhood alive, he said, “I see no way of achieving anything in J&K without a lasting unity between different sections of our society.
Unity in diversity must be our creed to last for all time and under all circumstances, otherwise, there is no end in sight to our common problems in the shape of poverty, unemployment, and under-development. Our mutual discord will make our descent into darkness. Divided we cannot achieve anything, let alone get back our abridged constitutional and democratic rights, added Bhalla.
