A demonstration and sit dharna was conducted at Press Club Exhibition ground Jammu under the leadership of Sh Dev Raj Bali President of VRS Union Jammu wherein they criticized the attitude of the State Administration and J&K Higher Authorities alleging that these two are in connivance with each other and bent upon to harass the VRS/GHS employees, as the VRS employees are struggling for the last more than 8 years for 50% balance payments of legitimate dues for cost of living allowance (COLA) arrears, bill of which comes to Rs 16, 76, 49, 497.00 and 6th pay commission arrears and bonus @8.33%. and there is clear violation of Cabinet Decision No78/08/2013 dated 26.03.2013 and Govt. order No. 103- F of 2013 dated 10-04-2013.
They said their balance dues are not being released whereas all the documents (bills) are complete in all respects are laying pending in the office of the Finance Department Civil Secretariat, Jammu.
They appealed to the Advisor (Transport Department) to his Excellency, the Governor J&K State to put their case in the coming board of Directors meeting so that they may also get justice as they have already suffered a lot.
They also highlighted their demands including Cola arrears w.e.f. 1999, 6th Pay Commission arrears w.e.f. 1st Jan.2006, Implementation of Corporation benefits . those who were present included Surinder Singh, Balwinder Singh, Prem Nath, B.B.Sharma, Shiv Kumar, Gulshan Singh, and others were also present.
