Madhya Pradesh, May 7 :
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said he wants the BJP-led NDA to win 400 seats in the ongoing Lok Sabha polls to ensure the Congress does not bring back Article 370 in Kashmir and put a ”Babri lock” on the Ram temple in Ayodhya.
Addressing a rally at Dhar in Madhya Pradesh, Modi also slammed RJD president Lalu Prasad’s statement over favouring reservation benefits to Muslims.
He said the opposition INDIA bloc’s ”conspiracy” is deeper and it wants all reservation of the SCs, STs and OBCs for its vote bank.
He also accused the Congress of belittling Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar, adding the opposition party has started saying he had a very little role in framing the Constitution.
”The truth is that the Congress parivar deeply hates Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar,” Modi said.
The PM said the Congress is spreading rumours that if he gets 400 Lok Sabha seats, he will change the Constitution.
It seems as if the Congress people’s intelligence is focussed on their vote bank, he said.
”It is important for the country’s people to know the BJP-led NDA already has 400-plus seats in Parliament. We used this number to scrap Article 370 (which provided special status to Jammu and Kashmir),” the PM said.
“Modi wants 400 seats so that the Congress won’t bring back Article 370 to spoil the game, Modi wants 400 seats so that the Congress won’t put a Babri lock on the Ram temple in Ayodhya,” he said.
The PM said that about 14 days back, he challenged the Congress to give in writing to the country’s 140 crore people that it will not give reservation on the basis of religion.
”Secondly, I asked them to give in writing that they will never snatch reservation being given to SCs, STs and OBC and thirdly, to give in writing that they will never give reservation to Muslims by committing dacoity from the existing OBC quota, but they are not responding and sitting silently by putting a lock on their mouths,” he said.
The PM said he wants 400 Lok Sabha seats to prevent Congress from ”dacoity” of the OBC quota to benefit its vote bank.
“We have also used these 400 plus seats to extend SC/ST quota for 10 years, appoint a tribal woman as the country’s President for the first time and to provide reservation to women,” Modi said.
The PM said he is asking for 400 seats so that he can stop every conspiracy of the Congress and INDIA alliance. ”Modi is asking for 400 seats so that the
Want 400 seats to
Congress does not hand over the country’s vacant land and islands to other countries, it does not take away reservation given to SC/ST/OBCs and give it to its vote bank, and does not declare all castes of its vote bank as OBC overnight,” he said.
Targeting Lalu Prasad, Modi said the Congress is making him ”dance on their head”.
”Their leader who has eaten animal fodder, has been convicted by court in a corruption case and is out on bail due to health reasons is saying Muslims should not just get reservation but all the reservation should be given to Muslims.” ”This means they want all the reservation to Muslims by snatching it from the SCs, STs and OBCs,” Modi said.
These people are doing this because they are counting their remaining breaths with the help of this ”very vote bank”, everything else is over, nothing is left with them, Modi said.
”I was saying they will cut some part of the reservation and give it on the basis of religion but the conspiracy is deeper. They are saying on the day of voting that they want to give all the reservation of SCs, STs and OBCs to the Muslim community,” he said.
”Do you accept this game of Congress and its allies? Should such people lose their deposits or not?” Modi asked.
He said Ambedkar had opposed religion-based reservation.
”Should such people be kept away from politics forever or not? This will be the biggest tribute to BR Ambedkar,” he said. When Congress was out of power, Ambedkar was given the Bharat Ratna, he added.
”The Congress has started saying that he (Ambedkar) had a very little role in framing the Constitution and Pandit Nehru made the most significant contribution in the making of the Constitution,” Modi said.
He said the Congress has stabbed Ambedkar and the Constitution in the back.
The Congress has sunk so deep into the quagmire of appeasement politics that it cannot see anything else, Modi said.
”If Congress has its way, it will say its vote bank has the first right to live in India,” he added.
”Till Modi is alive, he will foil attempts to erase India’s identity in the name of fake and pseudo secularism,” the PM said.
Modi said the opposition was defeated in the first phase of Lok Sabha polls, destroyed in the second phase, and whatever is left of it in the third phase today will also collapse.
”Because the whole country has decided ‘fir ek baar’,” he said, to which people added ”Modi sarkar”.
Modi said these ”dynasts wrote false history to glorify themselves and now have started creating lies about the Constitution also.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said that the Congress party and its INDI alliance were spreading a new rumour that if Modi would get 400 seats in Lok Sabha elections 2024, he would change the Constitution.
PM Modi made the remark while addressing a public gathering in Madhya Pradesh’s Dhar district.
“Congress and INDI alliance are spreading a new rumour that if Modi gets 400 seats, he will change the Constitution. It seems as if the Congress people’s intelligence has been locked by the vote bank. They should know that from 2019 to 2024, Modi had the support of 400 seats in the form of NDA and NDA+,” the Prime Minister said.
He further added that Congress and INDI alliance people should listen that as long as he is alive, any attempt to erase the identity of India in the name of pseudo-secularism will not succeed.
“Congress and INDI alliance people should listen- As long as Modi is alive, any attempt to erase the identity of India in the name of pseudo-secularism will not succeed. ‘Aur yeh hazaaron varsh purane Bharat ko uske iss santaan ki guarantee hain’ (This is the guarantee to thousands of years old India of its son),” said PM Modi.
He also said that the Congress party did not want Baba Saheb Bhim Rao Ambedkar to get the credit for making the constitution and they started saying that Baba Saheb’s contribution in making the Constitution was less while former prime minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru played the biggest role in making the Constitution.
“Congress wants Baba Saheb should not get the credit for making the Constitution. That is why now Congress has started saying that Baba Saheb’s contribution in making the Constitution was less, Nehru ji played the biggest role in making the Constitution. Do you agree with this,” Modi said. “Every kid of the nation knows that Baba saheb played the biggest role in making the Constitution of India. But they (Congress) first distorted the history of the country and made people forget the great Sons of Independence. They wrote false history to glorify themselves and now they have started fabricating lies about the Constitution as well,” he added.
He further alleged that the Congress party hated Baba Saheb and hatched every conspiracy to end Ambedkar’s politics.
“The Congress family hates Baba Saheb Ambedkar. Congress hatched every conspiracy to end Ambedkar’s politics. I consider it the good fortune of BJP and the BJP government that the central government-led by the BJP gave Bharat Ratna to Baba Saheb a few years ago,” he added.
Dhar will go to the polls in the fourth phase, which is the last phase of LS polls in the state, on May 13 with seven other constituencies – Dewas, Ujjain, Mandsaur, Ratlam, Indore, Khargone and Khandwa.

The polling for the third phase in the state is underway in nine parliamentary constituencies -Morena, Bhind, Gwalior, Guna, Sagar, Vidisha, Bhopal, Rajgarh and Betul from 7 am today.
The counting of votes will be held on June 4.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday sharply reacted to RJD Chief Lalu Prasad Yadav’s ‘Muslims should get reservation’ remark, accusing the INDIA bloc of snatching reservation rights of ST, SC and OBC community.
PM Modi, while addressing a public rally in Madhya Pradesh’s Dhar, took a dig at Lalu Prasad Yadav saying a “fodder scam accused” leader who is out on bail is advocating reservation for Muslims. “Congress is silent but today one of its allies confirmed the intentions of the INDI alliance. Their leader who is in jail in connection with the fodder scam and has been punished by the court…He has just come out on bail…He said that Muslims should get reservation and not just reservation, he says that Muslims should get complete reservations. What does this mean? These people want to snatch away all the reservation that SC, ST and OBC communities have and give complete reservation to Muslims,” PM Modi said.
Earlier today, former Bihar Chief Minister and RJD Chief Lalu Prasad Yadav came out in support of the Muslim quota, saying that they should get the reservation. Speaking to reporters, the former CM said, “Muslims should get reservation (reservation toh milna chahiye Musalmano ko, pura’…).”
He also slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his slogan ‘Abki Baar, 400 Paar’ and said, “The votes are on our side… They are saying that there will be a ‘Jungle Raj’ because they are scared, they are trying to instigate… They want to finish the Constitution and democracy.”
On RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav’s remark on reservation, Rajya Sabha MP and BJP spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi said, “The apprehensions expressed by BJP and PM Modi are now proving to be completely true. The genie of Muslim reservation has come out of the lamp of the INDI alliance and is visible in the sky from the South to the plains of Ganga. The thing worth noticing in the statement given by Lalu Prasad Yadav is that the most serious word he was asked about the Muslim community, he said yes Muslims should get reservation ‘poora ka poora’. It became clear that they want to give reservation to the Muslim community by snatching the share of SC, ST and OBC…”
Polling in Bihar, which sends 40 members to the Lok Sabha, is being held across all seven phases–April 19, April 26, May 7, May 13, May 20, May 25, and June 1. The voting on five seats in Bihar is ongoing as part of the third phase of the Lok Sabha election today. The five seats are Jhanjharpur, Supaul, Araria, Madhepura, and Khagaria. The counting of votes for all phases is scheduled for June 4.
