Amid the scorching heat, residents of various parts of Jammu are experiencing an acute shortage of drinking water. This was stated by Shiv Sena Hindustan J&K President Pt Rajesh Kesri while addressing media persons during a press conference in Jammu today. Addressing media persons, Kesri accused the authorities concerned of being indifferent to their problems amid scorching heat. He said government had claimed that they would ensure proper electricity and drinking water supply during summer but it is just beginning and already there are crisis of water and power supply. No one is concerned to provide relief to people amid the scorching heat,” he said.
Like every year, this year too people are facing shortage of water, especially in areas like Janipur, Indira Colony, Muthi Sainik Colony, Bathinda, Narwal, Greater Kailash, Satwari, where there is shortage of water and electricity. Big cuts are also taking place when water comes, electricity gets switched off due to which people are not able to store water, added Kesri.Kesri demanded government that the way the government offers tankers in these areas every summer, water should be provided to these people through tankers so that their daily water needs can be fulfilled and people can get some relief because people need a lot of water in summers. They need water to drink, cooking, washing and bathing .These are the basic needs of every human being and it is the responsibility of the government to fulfill them. This is why the government is elected by the people so that it can provide some facility to the people and give some relief to the people, but on the contrary, as soon as the summer starts, there is a shortage of water in the city. The government should pay proper attention to this so that people can have immediate relief, added Kesri.
