Rafiq Malik J&KUT President Lok Jan Shakti Party (Ramvilas) today hailed Election Commission of India for announcing poll schedule for J&K Assembly elections as per Supreme Court directions. Addressing media persons in Jammu during press conference he disclosed that LJP ( R ) is part of NDA Alliance and J&K Unit will act as per party’s high command. He however expressed willingness to contest assembly elections and said that this will be conveyed to party high command and if Party takes any decision in this regard, then very soon candidates for various assembly constituencies will be announced. Prominent among those present on the occasion include Varun Bali State Sr Vice President JKUT,RP Singh State Sr General Secretary, Shakeel Ahmed State General Secretary, Dickey Singh State Coordinator, Vijay Anant State General Secratary,Liyakat Ali Chief Spokes Person Kashmir, Devinder Pal State Secretary ,Puran Chand Malohotra State Secretary, Rashpal Singh Baloria State Secretary, Sachin Bhagat Spokes Person, Kamaljeet Jammu Province Vice President, Inderjeet Singh Distt President Samba,Shehbaz Malik State Youth President, Arbaz Malik State Vice President Youth Wing,Qadar Malik State General Secretary Youth Wing,MK Bhat State President Migrant Cell.
Speaking on the occasion, Malik said the troubles that people have faced for the past 10 years will end after this election. The Election Commission has also made a positive change by reducing the election period from three months to one-third of that time. We are very happy. It is not as important who will form the government, but it is crucial that after 10 years, people get the chance to elect their leaders and representatives,” said Malik. He further noted that the people of Jammu and Kashmir had been awaiting these assembly elections for six years, following the fall of the PDP-BJP government in June 2018. Though we were pressing for the restoration of full statehood before the holding of assembly elections, the announcement by the Election Commission is a welcome step, and we are hopeful that the commission will ensure a level playing field and adequate security without any discrimination” said Malik.
Malik further said that youth have lost jobs, unemployment rate is quite high which will be party’s core point in election manifesto . He assured the people of J&K that his party would be the ‘voice of the voiceless’ and promised a corruption-free administration and due share of power for weaker sections like Dalits, minorities, women, unorganised workers and agricultural labourers.
He said the new government should be built on strong pillars of principles – secularism, social justice, pro-poor approach in governance and corruption-free administration. He said that his party will always stand for the rights of people of Jammu and Kashmir. He said the development, dignity and peace in J&K top priorities of LJP. We do not make pretentious statements but instead commit to working towards achieving peace, prosperity, and development in Jammu and Kashmir. Give us a fair chance to serve you. I, again promise that LJP (R ) will not let you down,” he added.
