Will not tolerate any laxity in cruelty against cows: Chandel

Akhil Bharatiya Gurukul & Gaushala Research Foundation (ABGGRF) National Youth Executive Member, Sunil Sharma on Sunday appointed Adv P S Chandel as the J&K In-charge of Foundation’s J&K unit during a programme held here.
On the occasion, Sham Lal Langar, former senior Vice President CCI Jammu was the Chief Guest.
Addressing the gathering, Sunil Sharma said that the Foundation is presently working in 16 states including UP, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Assam, Kerala and J&K, and soon it will become a pan India organization with its branches spread over the entire country. He said that the Foundation is aimed at promoting a culture in the country which is based on traditional values where cows have special significance in the life of people and the same were respected like mothers. He said that the Foundation’s target is to spread awareness across the country to connect people to their roots and tell them the difference between rich Indian Sanskriti and modern day world culture which is steering people towards suffering and misery.
Advocate PS Chandel, in his address, expressed gratitude to the National Executive Member for giving him the opportunity to serve the society and work in the direction to educate people about the rich Indian culture and values which no other society practices in the world.
Advocate Chandel said that as per the directions of Founder & National President Guruji Gautam Rishi, he will intensify the working of organization and also nominate new district Presidents in the UT of J&K. He demanded implementation of Article 48 of the Indian Constitution in letter and spirit in the Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory, which prohibits cow slaughtering.
Citing the recent ruling by the Allahabad High Court wherein it was said that the cow should be declared the national animal and that Gau Raksha (cow protection) should be included as a fundamental right of the Hindus, Advocate Chandel said that government should immediately implement this verdict across the country and especially in J&K.
He also sought full implementation of the Municipal Act in which strict action should be taken against people who after milking the bovines leave them on roads for feeding which becomes a cause of road accidents.
Advocate Chandel appealed to the Hon’ble Lt Governor Manoj Sinha and Commissioner JMC to ensure that no bovine animal is subjected to cruelty of any sort. Chandel said that he will not tolerate any sort of laxity in this matter as cows are sacred animals and cruelty against them will not be tolerated come what may. He also asked the youth to visit Gaushalas on a regular basis to preserve the traditional values and also set an example for the coming generations.
Speaking on the occasion, Sham Lal Langar said that the need of the hour is to connect the people with the rich cultural background of the country especially with regard to religious, historical, economic, cultural and sociological significance of the sacred cows as the same promote eco-friendly living in India. He said that the young generation should peep into the past to have thorough knowledge of meaningful dwelling which allowed the humans to live a long and contented life by developing harmonious connection with nature. He wished best of luck to the newly appointed President of the Foundation for his new responsibility.
Among others who were present included State President Rajinder Kakkar; Vice President Sham Lal; Vice President Narendra Singh; State General Secretary Dr Bhardwaj and Treasurer Dr Ohja.
